ABOUT THE NEW UEFA CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FORMAT
The revamped format for this season redefines European competition:
- 36 teams will now compete in a single league phase
- Each club plays eight matches (four home, four away) against different opponents
- The top eight teams automatically quality for the Round of 16
- Teams ranked 9th-24th will compete in a two-legged playoff to reach the knockout stage
